This is a digital guestbook, installed on a large touchscreeen at the National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC). It allows people to leave their feedback on the exhibition, make a donation, or sign up for a membership program.

The design was inspired by traditional museum guestbooks signed on the right side.

The museum had an extensive color palette, with lots of separate subpalettes dedicated to different sections and themes. It had to be significantly simplified for the application down to only a few colors.

The splash screen turned into a bit of a project of its own. We knew we wanted something to do with signatures, but more than a mere play on mapping or a printed book. In the end, we made an animation of stylized overlapping signatures that go from white to black, then invert and go back to white.
